For qualified buyers
Import Trading
Import trading, for Meridian, means helping a qualified buyer explore overseas sources, compare what suppliers actually offer, and keep the commercial conversation orderly. It is not a promise to act as importer of record.
What Meridian intends to do
- Understand the product, the specification, and the market the buyer wants to bring it into.
- Help frame questions for prospective suppliers: capacity, documents, packing, and commercial terms.
- Keep buyer and supplier correspondence tied to the same requirement so quotations can be compared.
Scope of the conversation
- Overseas sourcing for buyers who can describe what they need.
- Procurement coordination and supplier communication.
- Commercial discussion of specifications and quotation points. Not a bonded warehouse and not a customs entry service.
What helps a review
- The destination’s expectations, as far as you already know them.
- Quantity, unit, and whether you need a sample discussion before any production talk.
- Which commercial term you prefer to discuss, understanding that Incoterms® are a reference and not a contract by themselves.
- Internal stakeholders who must approve a later purchase.
What this page does not promise
- The buyer remains responsible for import eligibility, permits, duties, and product compliance unless a later contract clearly assigns a task.
- Meridian does not guarantee a supplier, a price, or a delivery date.
- Receiving an import enquiry does not make Meridian the importer of record.
Describe the requirement.
A clear product, quantity, and destination makes a review possible. It does not reserve goods.
